What to bring
Don’t forget your bib. For the ride, bring:
- a water bottle;
- a few snacks or a picnic;
- a piece of ID and a little money;
- a lock, if you plan to leave your bike.
Wear comfortable clothes suited to the weather and bring a raincoat: events take place rain or shine. Vélo Québec strongly recommends wearing a helmet.
Tips on the road and services offered
Bike mechanic volunteers (red T-shirt with a wrench) help you for free all along the route; you only pay for parts. First aid volunteers also ride the route.
Young people aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Write a phone number on the inside of your child’s bib.
Bikes allowed
All types of bikes are accepted, including tandems and electric-assist bikes (500-watt motor and 35 km/h maximum). Pedal scooters and electric unicycles are prohibited, as are animals on the route (except in a basket or bike trailer).
Getting to the Festival
Ride with Bixi
Ride a regular or electric BIXI during our events. Visit the BIXI website for more information.
Getting to the start
The STM usually lets cyclists take the metro with their bike across the network to get to the start (not in the first car; tandems, tricycles and trailers are not allowed).
Parking is limited near the start: choose your bike or public transit. Closed streets are listed in the Infocirculation.
